Smiles Dental Group is a locally owned Alberta dental group with seven established practices serving more than 65,000 patients annually. We’re looking for a full-time Associate Dentist who wants to build a productive practice with strong clinical and operational support.

You’ll have established patient demand, two dedicated Registered Dental Assistants, modern technology and the autonomy to diagnose, treatment-plan and provide care within your training, competence and professional scope.

What You Can Expect

• Established patient demand: Join an established group rather than building a patient base from zero.
• Strong production opportunity: Historical dentist production in our environment demonstrates potential for approximately $5,000–$10,000 in daily production, depending on clinical scope, experience, schedule and case mix. This is not a production guarantee. We’ll discuss actual clinic volumes and expectations during the interview process.
• Two dedicated RDAs: Our associate model is designed to support patient flow and efficient dentistry while protecting the quality of care.
• Clinical autonomy: You remain responsible for clinical decisions and patient care. Support and second opinions are available when you want them.
• $10,000 signing bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates moving to Alberta or Edmonton.

Grow Your Clinical Scope

We want Associates to develop the skills to diagnose, plan and complete increasingly comprehensive dentistry themselves when appropriate for their competence and the patient’s needs. We do not aim to funnel suitable cases away from our Associates.

Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities may include:

• Comprehensive restorative dentistry and complex treatment planning
• Endodontics and oral surgery
• Invisalign, comprehensive orthodontics and braces
• Digital dentistry
• Other advanced procedures aligned with your training and clinical interests

We provide company-funded continuing education and professional development to support that growth. Tell us where you want your dentistry to be in three years.

Mentorship 

Every Smiles dentist participates in a dedicated monthly clinical case-review meeting. Dentists can present challenging cases, seek second opinions, review treatment options, discuss complications and clinical decisions, learn from colleagues’ cases, and identify areas for further development.

Recent graduates can draw on experienced clinicians as they build confidence and speed. Experienced dentists gain clinical collaboration while retaining their autonomy.

Depending on location, our practices offer technology and digital workflows such as CBCT imaging, iTero scanning, digital treatment planning, Invisalign systems and comprehensive orthodontic systems, alongside other clinic-specific equipment. We invest in technology when it improves diagnosis, treatment, patient experience or clinical efficiency.

We’re open to experienced dentists and strong recent graduates. Recent graduates should be motivated to learn, receptive to coaching and ready to develop their skills. Experienced dentists should bring an established skill set and an interest in continuing to grow their clinical scope and production.

Compensation & Qualifications

We’ll review the compensation structure, $10,000 signing bonus, relocation support, patient-demand expectations and applicable terms clearly with qualified candidates.

You’ll need:

• A DDS/DMD or equivalent dental degree meeting Canadian licensing requirements
• NDEB certification or eligibility, as applicable
• Registration, or eligibility for registration, with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA)
• Eligibility to hold an Alberta practice permit
