Associate Dentist -
Edmonton -
Full-Time

Edmonton, Alberta | Established Patient Demand | Two Dedicated RDAs | $10,000 Signing Bonus

Build a Busy Practice, Not a Patient Base From Scratch

If you’re looking for an associate position where you can practise comprehensive dentistry, stay busy and build a long-term career, we’d like to meet you.

Smiles Dental Group is a locally owned Alberta dental group with seven established practices serving more than 65,000 patients annually.

We’re looking for a full-time Associate Dentist who wants to build a strong, productive practice within a well-supported clinical environment.

You’ll have established patient demand, two dedicated Registered Dental Assistants, modern technology, clinical autonomy and a team focused on helping you spend your time doing what you were trained to do: diagnosing, treating patients and providing excellent dentistry.

For the right dentist, this is intended to be a long-term home, not a short-term associate position.

What You Can Expect

Established patient demand.
You’re joining an established group with significant existing patient volume rather than being expected to build a practice from zero.

Strong production opportunity.
Historical dentist production within our environment demonstrates the potential for approximately $5,000–$10,000 in daily production, depending on clinical scope, experience, schedule and case mix. This is not a production guarantee; we’ll discuss actual clinic volumes and expectations openly during the interview process.

Two dedicated RDAs.
Our associate model is designed to support efficient dentistry. Each Associate works with two dedicated Registered Dental Assistants so you can maintain patient flow while protecting the quality of care.

Clinical autonomy.
You diagnose, treatment-plan and determine the dentistry you provide within your training, competence and professional scope. Clinical support and second opinions are available when you want them without removing your responsibility for patient care.

$10,000 signing bonus.

Relocation support.
Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates moving to Alberta or Edmonton for the opportunity.

Grow Your Clinical Scope

We want dentists who are interested in becoming better clinicians over time.

Depending on your experience and interests, you’ll have opportunities to provide and develop skills across:

  • Comprehensive restorative dentistry
  • Endodontics
  • Oral surgery
  • Invisalign
  • Comprehensive orthodontics and braces
  • Digital dentistry
  • Complex treatment planning
  • Other advanced procedures aligned with your training and clinical interests

Our goal is not to funnel good cases away from our Associates. Where appropriate to your competence and the patient’s needs, we want you to have the opportunity to develop the skills to diagnose, treatment-plan and complete increasingly comprehensive dentistry yourself.

Mentorship Without Micromanagement

Support should help you become a stronger dentist — not interfere with your clinical judgment.

Every Smiles dentist participates in a dedicated monthly clinical case-review meeting where dentists can:

  • Present challenging cases
  • Get second opinions
  • Review treatment options
  • Discuss complications and clinical decision-making
  • Learn from other dentists’ cases
  • Identify opportunities for further clinical development

For newer dentists, this creates access to experienced clinicians while you develop confidence and speed.

For experienced dentists, it provides a collaborative clinical environment without sacrificing autonomy.

Technology That Supports Better Dentistry

Depending on location, our practices include technology and digital workflows such as:

  • CBCT imaging
  • iTero digital scanning
  • Digital treatment planning
  • Invisalign systems
  • Comprehensive orthodontic systems
  • Modern digital clinical workflows
  • Additional clinic-specific technology and equipment

We continue to invest in technology when it meaningfully improves diagnosis, treatment, patient experience or clinical efficiency.

We Invest in Our Dentists

Smiles provides company-funded continuing education and professional development because we want Associates to expand their capabilities over time.

We are particularly interested in dentists who want to develop clinically rather than simply repeat the procedures they already know.

Tell us where you want your dentistry to be in three years. We want to understand that during the interview.

Who Will Thrive Here

This opportunity is likely a strong fit if you:

  • Want a busy clinical environment and meaningful earning potential
  • Take ownership of your schedule, patients and treatment outcomes
  • Communicate treatment clearly and ethically
  • Build trust with patients rather than simply complete procedures
  • Want to become more efficient without compromising care
  • Are interested in comprehensive dentistry and expanding your clinical capabilities
  • Work well with RDAs, hygienists, front-office teams and other dentists
  • Are receptive to feedback and willing to discuss difficult cases
  • Value clinical autonomy and the accountability that comes with it
  • Are looking for a practice where you can build relationships and stay for the long term

We’re open to both experienced dentists and strong recent graduates.

For recent graduates, we’re looking for someone who is motivated to learn, receptive to coaching and prepared to put in the work required to develop into a confident comprehensive dentist.

For experienced dentists, we’re interested in clinicians who can bring an established skill set while continuing to grow their scope and production.

About Smiles Dental Group

We’re a locally owned and growing Alberta dental group.

Our size gives our dentists access to the patient demand, technology, clinical collaboration and operational support of a larger organization while maintaining local leadership and clinical decision-making.

We believe the strongest long-term associate relationships are built when three things are true:

Patients receive excellent care.
Dentists have the opportunity to build successful careers.
The practice creates the systems and support required for both.

That’s the environment we’re continuing to build.

Compensation & Relocation

We believe candidates should understand the economics of an opportunity before making a career decision.

Our recruitment team will review the compensation structure, signing bonus, relocation support, patient-demand expectations and applicable terms clearly with qualified candidates.

  • $10,000 signing bonus
  • Relocation assistance available for eligible candidates
  • Strong production opportunity supported by established patient demand
  • Company-funded continuing education and professional development

Qualifications

  • DDS/DMD or equivalent dental degree meeting Canadian licensing requirements
